I must ask if you write all of these reviews. I'm very impressed at your knowledge in such a wide range of hobbys. Especially since you yourself can't be participating in all of them.

Excellend brand recommendations by the way. I took piano lessons from the age of 5 up through college. I own both a Baldwin & Steinway grand piano.

Growing up we had a Schimmel Konzert grand piano in our formal living area, beautiful instrument. Of course, I only got to play it on special occasions. The rest of the time I played on either my Baldwin (It was my favorite because it was mine, and my siblings couldn't touch it w/o my permission!), or the Steinway that I shared with the rest of the family.

Even though I've played on grand pianos my whole life I must add that you can buy a Casio digital piano for around 6-7 hundred. It is a top-of-the-line digital piano, for a ridiculously low price! It would be an excellent starter piano. Korg & Yamaha are excellent as well.

$1,000 for a decent digital piano? Nooooo, you can get a decent one for a couple hundred, maybe less. $1,000 would get you a VERY nice digital piano. Comparable, perhaps, to pianos themselves.
