Selling my Soul for Links

In an effort to maintain some of my dignity as a blog owner I’ve decided to merge 7 blog reviews into one post. Most of these guys don’t really want to read another review about why their site is so great anyways. They only want me for my link  I guess truth be told I only want them for their link.

I’ll also take this opportunity to rate each blog owner as either BORING or NOT-SO-BORING. Blog owners will be judged on the excitement of their offline lives and the quality of their blog posts. Extra points will be given for items like driving a fast car or skydiving. Single males sitting on their computers 12 hours a day, trying to make a living online are going to have a hard time breaking out of the BORING category. I wish you all luck.

BORING!Net Business Blog: So you want to make a living online? Let Mr. Coddington show you the way. In 4 short months he has risen to the top of the stack and there is only one way to do that. Great content. With that great content comes the title of BORING. Matt is in college and trying to figure out how to spend his spring break working on his websites. No more justification needed.

Boring!King Nomar: Nomar has built quite a site over the past year. His blog mainly focuses on business but sprinkles in plenty of posts on other subjects as well. I’m not exactly sure how Nomar got dubbed a king, but it makes for a nice domain. After cruising his site I was only able to deduce that he is a 20 year old web developer from the Netherlands. No fast cars. No crazy life altering experiences. Unfortunately he has to go in the pile of BORING bloggers. I guess that’s no way to win the $25 for the best review, but I have to keep it honest.

Not So Boring!Mr. Gary Lee: Gary’s running a massive linkback promotion, so if you think you can manage 200 words and a couple links you too can have your very own link from his site. For me 200 words is pretty difficult since I am a man gifted with brevity. Anyways, Gary has built some very respectable traffic in 3 short months. He tends to blog on all things related to the web including: Marketing, Agloco, Technology, and even tips for using the web.Gary’s got a couple of posts which earned him Not-So BORING. His trip down memory lane, A Night with Kelly Hu, was my favorite; but his experience Taking the Train in Los Angeles came in a close second. I did have to take a couple of points away since he thinks he needs to do his part to stop global warming. His bio is quite interesting where he mentions he likes golf and basketball. I wonder if he’s read my Interview with Patricia Hannigan? If I didn’t hit 200 words and he doesn’t give me the beloved linkback, I’ll be forced to demote him to BORING for counting the number of words in this review.

Not So Boring!Tyler Cruz: Only one bad thing about his blog. No Categories. I’m not going to endlessly surf through the dated archives to find something to read. Tyler is a great writer. Has some very interesting stories with his online ventures. A Not-So BORING rating was simple based on his About Me page alone. Normally I would have expected to read a couple posts about his experiences but like I said I wasn’t going to weed through the archives to make that determination. Movies and poker are on the top of Tyler’s list of things he enjoys. He got extra points for having a girlfriend, but his love for poker pushed it over the top. I wonder if he ever played in the WSOP like a certain NotSoBoringLife blog owner

Not So Boring!John Chow: Make money online with promotional pens! Of coarse John is Not-So BORING. Fast Car. Fine Dining. It doesn’t get any easier. IF John ends up letting me win the Wii *wink wink* *nudge nudge* I may just have to come up with a brand new class of Not-So BORING.

Hey I like the idea of using the Boring/Not-So-Boring rating for the blogs :)

Wow. Looks like a lot of people enjoyed this format. I’ve finished Batch 2, but it looks like I’m out of reviews now. If anybody wants a review feel free to email me.

Sorry if I had to make you write so much, but thank god you did! I’m really happy I got a Not So Boring Rating . . . maybe you should hand out a button award! that would be hilarious! hahaha . . . anyways, thanks for coming by my site and participating in my link exchange. I hope to put you up soon when the batch is complete. Did I reach 200 words yet here? ;)

how can you judge a person’s life based on what they write in their blog?
i know this isnt as serious as i just made it sound
but what i mean is that if you look at my blog there doesnt really appear to be any basis to provide a not so boring title but if you look at my life i think that you would find that there is a good chance i bypass you in this category :P

I really like that you condensed the reviews all in one place, that is a great idea instead of making a post about each one. Nice loophole exploitation!

Thanks! Glad you like it. With all the reviews it really makes for a nice way to put them all together. I also have included contests and promotional type items in there as well.

With the PR update coming soon I am doing a similar review scheme, which is a little easier. All you have to do is make one comment about our website http://www.taxfix.co.uk with the anchor text ‘tax refund’ and we will review your blog for free. Just email blog@taxfix.co.uk once you have done it. Also on my Blog I have written a list of other sites that offer links for reviews (in order of Page Rank). I thought you might be interested in adding yours or using the list to get some links from some high PR blogs. Just link to the post with any anchor text and I will add your site and email me on blog@taxfix.co.uk
