Selling My Soul for Links - Batch 5

BORING or NOT-SO-BORING : That is the question. If you’re ready to face the truth whether you’re boring or not then get signed up for Selling Your Soul for Links. I honestly no longer care about getting hordes of links but would rather focus the links pointing here on SEO. If you want to participate write a post that provides a couple links back to one of the hobby guides like shark fishing or pipe smoking. In return I’ll check out your site and do the same for you.

Not So BORING!Career Ramblings: I really wish I had careerramblings.com in my feedreader 3 months ago when I changed jobs. A lot of the content on this site could have helped me out immensely with my transition. The resume makeovers were of particular interest since that is really what sells you to a new company. If you are in need of an update you definitely need to check out this category. Jane May is a what I would consider a SME (subject matter expert) in career development for new hires straight out of college. If you’re going to be graduating from college in the next year or two it’s time to start thinking about where you’re going and how you’re going to get there. I hope you’re not planning on taking that blog to a six figure income ;) Anyways, Jane May and John Anthony are offering a linkback to anyone who reviews their blog. This blog comes with some authority so do your best to follow the rules and provide some quality content.

I only have one suggestion for these two bloggers. The About page is good, but it’s really missing two things. The first would be pictures of each of you. Second would be to provide a link to your personal blogs or webpages? I couldn’t even find any info on John Anthony or his expertise in this whole venture.

The Boring rating was really a must on this one. I couldn’t find a single piece of personal info on either Jane or John. There blog doesn’t really cater to the personal side, but fair is fair so the I had to whip out the boring rating. Now with that said, you really do need to check out careerramblings.com for some career development advice.

Not-So BORING!Bob Meets World: Check this out! Bob is giving away a Nintendo DS Lite. Not only is this my review of his site but it’s also an entry into his contest. Bob has a really cool site. It’s lighthearted with several posts per day. The posts range in content from blogging to blackberries.

I have to say I was really torn on whether Bob was Boring or Not-So Boring. After all he is a 30 year old, MacBook using, guy from the Netherlands with a girlfriend from Australia. Then I remembered Bobs post on How to Poo in Space and it pushed me over the edge. Also, might I suggest you head over to his blog and learn how to get more rss subscribers?

BORING!Thoughts From My Life: Thanks to Neil I’m going to be ordering myself some of the Best Shaving Cream in the World. I’ve been cruising the net for many years now and I’ve never seen someone recommend a shaving cream. This is a pretty cool blog covering lots of different topics like Finance and Photography. I especially enjoyed Neils recap posts as he outlines his traffic and blogging income. Looks like he averages ~100 uniques and makes around $100/mo for several different sources. Sounds to me like the majority of the blogs out there should be doing the exact same thing Neil is doing ;) I have Neil a Not-So Boring rating because this cat has a personal blog as well where he blogs about his trips to the other side of the world, hockey games, and family gatherings. Good read all the way around.

BORING!Dirty Little Secrets: Here’s a blog that’s been around for almost 2 years. There is lots of information pertaining to making money online, but I couldn’t find any posts that deal with how much he as actually made. Also several of the posts I found had pictures that were no longer available from imageshack. Gotta get that kind of stuff fixed if you want readers to stick around. The one last complain I had was that all the images have been watermarked with miriguy.com. I understand what you’re trying to do here but there really is no need for it. These aren’t the type of images people or trying to steal. Unfortunately I couldn’t really find any info about Chee that would warrant a Not-So Boring rating. What this young man does having going for him is that he is still young and can get out and have the not-so boring life everybody dreams about like Matt Harding.

There we have it. 4 more blogs added to the list. If you’re interested you know what to do, and if you don’t leave a comment or an email. If you’re a new blog I would suggest you go back and look through the archives for all the other blogs you can do a quick review of so you can get yourself some exposure.
