5 Not-So Boring Reasons Why I Blog

Sabrina tagged me with the 5 reasons why I blog, so here they are in no particular order.

1. Repository for Information - Throughout a year I tend to pickup another couple of hobbies. I do a ton of research on these hobbies and then in a year will forget half of it. I decided to start blogging to keep track of my hobbies, their progress, and the wealth of information I’ve learned. I can document my recommendations so other people can learn from my mistakes and what actually worked out really well.

2. Communication - On several occasions my wife has said I was reading your blog and I didn’t know you … Well I guess it’s because I’m actually taking the time to explain how I feel and explain what I enjoy. I think blogging helps me verbally communicate with her better as well.

3. Make Money - Since this site is hobby driven there has to be a market for my information. I know its going to take time, and I’m not going to rush make money from this blog. I want readers to enjoy being on this site, and don’t plan on making advertising an eye sore. If you’ve made it back to the beginning of this blog you know I eventually want to secure my mortgage payment with this blogs monthly income.

4. Hobby - To blog everyday takes a considerable amount of time. I enjoy doing it and enjoy learning all about this great hobby. It will be even better when I’m making a load of cash off this site.

5. Popularity - Maybe that doesn’t really explain it. How great is it that you can have a consistent audience? I like have a sounding board to explain how I feel about a particular subject. Granted I don’t voice my opinion on a lot of subjects that really bother my (like the whole Imus deal) but if I wanted to I could spew my opinion to a hundred or so readers.
