10 Spooky & Creative Halloween Cooking Ideas

1. Zombie Meatloaf

Who doesn’t love Zombie meat? We found the recipe on Global Gourmet, who got it from the Kids Cooking Club, who saw it at a party…the point being that everyone seems to love the occasional zombie meatloaf.

2. Yucky Halloween MonsterToes

This idea is simple, slightly unappetizing…and yet perfectly tasty! What could be better for Halloween than eating monster toes? As the website suggests, kids will love this one!

3. Vomit Dip

We know what you’re thinking. That “vomit” and “dip” are two words that should never go together. It’s true that this one isn’t for the faint of heart, but the good news is that the recipe is no more than cottage cheese, onion soup, sour cream, carrots, and food coloring. So if you can get past the “yuck factor” you’re sure to love this one.

4. Baked Eyeballs Casserole

We love this one! It’s delicious and just the right amount of gross. The “eyeballs” are made out of fresh mozzarella balls and olives. Yummm…

5. Pumpkin Pancakes

For those who don’t want to eat vomit, toes, and eyeballs for Halloween, pumpkin pancakes may be more your style (especially if you’re eating them for breakfast…vomit & eyeballs don’t go down so well first thing in the morning). These are cute, fun, and they taste great!

6. Haunted Forest Platter

This is more difficult to make than the others, only because it requires some craftiness on your part.  However, it’s also one of the most creative on our list. A good one to impress your friends (or children, if you are so inclined) with.

7. Vegetarian Halloween (especially the Black Widow Pie)

Hey, meat-eaters aren’t the only ones who want to have fun eating eyeballs and goblin guts. We couldn’t just pick one of these recipes…they’re all great. But we have to admit the black widow pie is are favorite on the list. There’s also a link for a vegan Halloween.

8. Halloween Gingerbread House

Halloween just isn’t complete without a spooky gingerbread house. The best thing about making a gingerbread house is that you can add whatever candies and decorations you want. Tons of room for creativity!

9. Melon Brain

For a healthier treat, try a melon brain. This one is cheap (all you need is a small round watermelon) but it’s deceptively difficult if you’re not good at carving. So make sure you take your time. If you’ve never done it before, you might even want to buy 2 watermelons so you have one to practice on.

10. Black Bat Punch

Don’t forget the drinks! Black Bat Punch is made out of ice-cream, a variety of sodas and juices…OK, so it’s not the healthiest treat in the world, but it is tasty, especially if you have a sweet tooth. Perfect for Halloween. The website also features a variety of other drinks if black bats aren’t really your thing.
