Advance Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS)

If you read the About Me page you know that I used to work for Lockheed Martin. The last thing I designed were the electronics for the APKWS rocket. The APKWS is only 2.75" in diameter but is laser guided in order to assure the death and destruction of the 'bad guys'. The Hellfire II, which Lockheed also produces, is the big brother to the APKWS, with a 7" diameter. It will mince a tank in microseconds. However, the APKWS is meant for lightly armored targets including cars, SUVs, and bunkers. The following photo is a high speed camera shot of the APKWS test firing we held last year. It went down range and hit the target board within 18" of the laser spot. A perfect kill. It was moving ~300mph when this picture was taken and will reach mach 1.5 in under 3 seconds.
